It’s always hard to decide what percentage of your roadmap should be dedicated to paying down technical debt.

Put it off for too long and you’ll collapse at some point in the future. Optimize too soon, and too frequently, and you’re wasting cycles that could be better invested in the customer.

I’ve been on both sides of that pendulum swing.
