I use social media as broadcast channels for my writing and businesses. I engage with a few cool people.

But, I'm connected with that tiny circle of cool people in many ways. Social media can burn to the ground, and I'll be fine. Better than fine. I'd be happier.

I hate feeling like I have to "feed the beasts" daily to keep my relevance up enough for the algorithms not to punish me.

But, people should always look at these things as useful tools, not crutches. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, and don't become too dependent on one channel.

That's why I own my content, my domains, and my email lists. Completely portable and I can take all of it where I want.
