I love the idea of adding intentionality to our daily work. It’s also a good time to write a single sentence that captures “Why” you are doing this task. I think we sometimes get caught up in the “How” and wanting to be more productive, but we forget to question why we are doing something.
I’ve had a few tasks that I was in the habit of doing frequently and well. One day, I stopped and asked myself,
- Why am I still doing this?
- Is it actually accomplishing what I think it is?
- Is there a better use of my time and energy?
The answers to those questions made it clear that it no longer made sense to do those tasks that I had once thought were so important.
