I avoid obscenity in my writing for a number of reasons. But, the primary one being that it has no impact when everyone else is doing it too.

The first writers, comedians, and social media celebrities who dared to use profanity shocked everyone when they cursed. Now, it’s no longer shocking nor sensational.
