Ghosting by the company is inexcusable behavior. It is unprofessional for the recruiters and the hiring manager to just “disappear.”
I know that they sometimes ghost because they fear legal fallout from their decision. But, often they simply lack courage and maturity. It’s really unfortunate.
Candidates talk and word gets around that a company treats interview candidates like crap. I deal with this with my clients. They often tell me about the companies that just go silent, and then I add that company’s name to my black list.
When I was in my last two corporate gigs, we made it a strict policy that each and every candidate heard back from us if they didn’t get an offer. We never wanted to leave someone hanging.
No one should experience that radio silence.
