Exactly. There are often three stages to the process of fixing a problem like this.
- Work hard to change the culture of the current company and improve the work experience. But, this can take years, even IF you are successful.
- Quit and find a new job at a company that has the type of culture you want. The problem is that it is very hard to truly know the culture of a company (and how your boss really behaves) until you are already there.
- Start your own company and create the culture you want for you and your employees. Still very challenging, and most startups fail, but at least you can build the company and the culture together, and change occurs rapidly in a small startup.
Is #3 scary and difficult? Absolutely. But, it’s better than spending every day in a job that makes you so deeply unhappy.
