A couple other tips that have helped me:
1. Smile
2. Laugh
We get so nervous and anxious when we have to speak in front of others. You can see the tension in people's faces.
But, if you can get them to smile and laugh a little, they light up and their personality comes through. They instantly relax and feel more positive.
People can actually "hear" your smile even when they can't see you.
